The selection and operation of the MBR System pretreatment processes

The complete pretreatment process design includes Pre-treatment and Biological design.

Item Pre-treatment /Biological design
Fibrous or Hairs or other sharp material that may clog the module or damage the membrane Physical/chemical pretreatment (coarse bar screen, aerated grit and sand removal, fine screen, coagulation…)
Fat, oil and grease (FOG) < 5 (at the inlet of biological treatment), Typical FOG levels found in domestic wastewater will not affect the membrane performance
PH adjustment Better between 6—8, dosing system if needed
Temperature, BOD, COD, SS, TN, TP, TDS In the case of typical municipal sewage treatment with proper MLSS concentration & operating at mild temperatures, approximately 6 to 8 hours of HRT under average flow conditions may be appropriate in order to avoid ammonia peaks during hydraulic peak flows.

Separate tank for the MBR Modules will have good and convenience maintenance.

Suction pump l  2 sets one working one standby.

l  suction head lift=6m.

l  rated head=15—25m. working pressure 0.15—-0.25MPa

l  Rated flow≥1.2 x deigned averaged flow.

Backwash pump l  rated head=10—15m. working pressure 0.1—0.15MPa

l  Rated flow≥2 x deigned averaged flow.

l  it better to add the cartridge filter for backwash water, for big capacity project need design the Frequency converter.

Reflux pump l  rated head=10—15m.

l  Rated flow≥2 x deigned averaged flow

Air Blower l  1 working 1 standby.

l  Continues fine bubble aeration.

l  Aeration Vibration volume between 0.15—0.2 Nm 3 /m². Hour

Electrical valves l  One permeates valve, synchronous working with suction pump.

l  One backwash valve, synchronous working with backwash pump
