How to choose right PVDF Pore Size MBR Membrane for wastewater treatment

Hydrophilicity modified polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes have various advantages, for example, good mechanical strength, strong protein retention, extensive solvent compatibility, and excellent coloring ability. PVDF membrane is ideal for wastewater and clean water filtration, its has over 90% market share in this water filtration field.
UF Membrane Hollow fibers

The PVDF membrane with a pore size of 0.4 μm, 0.1μm, 0.03-0.06μm widely in the market,

can be used for most immunoblots and is recommended for proteins or bacteria remove or turbidity low down with a molecular weight less than 20 kDa. For drinking water, it’s better choose the pore size less than 0.1μm, and wastewater filtration pore size above 0.1μm is acceptable.

We offer two types of PVDF (Polyvinylidene Difluoride) membranes, optimized for a specific wastewater and drinking water application, our PVDF membrane pore size is: between 0.03—0.06μm.

Bacteria, viruses, and particulates including colloids has bigger diameter, like cryptosporidium and Giardia and colloform diameter between 0.5–5μm, which cannot pass through the UF pores.

Filtration Pore Size

ultrafiltration (UF) can remove particulate and colloidal matters bigger than the pore size of the membrane and usually produce a filtrate free of turbidity and bacteria. These have been widely used to produce drinking water from river, lake,and underground water

As long as the UF pores size less than 0.1μm, then most of the bateria, virus and particles can be removed, SDI of output clean water: ≤ 2.5
