📌 Project Quick Overview

  • Client: Chemical industry in Iran

  • Capacity: 3,000 m³/day (125 m³/hr)

  • Application: Detergent & Chemical Plant Wastewater Reuse (UF Pretreatment for RO)

  • Core Technology: PVDF Hollow Fiber Ultrafiltration (UF) Membrane System

  • Key Outcome: SDI < 2.5, Turbidity < 0.5 NTU, 92% System Recovery Rate, 3,000 m³/d Fresh Water Saved
    UF SYSTEM FOR WATER REUSE

1. Project Background & Customer Challenge

Founded in 1982, The customer is a premier manufacturer of hygiene and industrial chemical products in Iran. With expanding production capacity and severe local water scarcity in Tehran, reducing freshwater consumption and achieving sustainable wastewater recycling became a critical strategic objective.

The client faced significant operational and environmental challenges:

  • High Raw Wastewater Impurities: High turbidity (≤50 NTU) and TSS (≤50 mg/L) made direct recycling impossible.

  • High Risk of RO Membrane Fouling: Without robust pretreatment, downstream Reverse Osmosis (RO) membranes suffered rapid scaling, biofouling, and high replacement costs.

  • Upstream Oxidant Hazards: The process required upstream Ozonation, demanding UF membrane materials with exceptional oxidant and chemical tolerance.

2. The Integrated Solution: Pretreatment + UF + RO Dual-Membrane Process

To overcome water-stress challenges and protect downstream investment, Hinada engineered a complete, fully automated skid-mounted Industrial Ultrafiltration (UF) System as the central protection barrier for the RO unit.

Process Flowchart: Feed Water → Sand Filter → Self-Cleaning Filter → Ozonizer → Hinada PVDF UF System → RO System → Reclaimed Water

3. Customer Benefits

The Hinada UF System delivers measurable operational and environmental benefits.

  • Reuses approximately 3,000 m³ of industrial wastewater every day

  • Significantly reduces freshwater consumption

  • Protects downstream RO membranes

  • Extends RO membrane replacement intervals

  • Reduces chemical cleaning frequency

  • Lowers operating and maintenance costs

  • Supports environmental compliance

  • Improves sustainable manufacturing performance

4. Why choose Hinada PVDF Ultrafiltration System?

  • Superior RO Protection: Consistently delivers SDI < 2.5 and turbidity < 0.5 NTU, dramatically lowering RO membrane biofouling and extending RO replacement cycles.

  • Advanced PVDF Hollow Fiber Membrane: Features outstanding mechanical strength, anti-fouling performance, and superior tolerance to residual ozone and aggressive chemical cleaning reagents.

  • Fully Automated PLC Control: Smart automated backwashing and CIP (Clean-in-Place) routines eliminate manual intervention and lower O&M labor costs.

  • Compact Modular Skid: Pre-assembled, factory pressure-tested, and skid-mounted for fast on-site positioning and installation.

5. On-Site Delivery, Commissioning & Market Impact

Delivered and commissioned in April 2024, Hinada provided comprehensive end-to-end technical support, including on-site installation guidance, PLC system integration, and operator training in Tehran.
