Designed to convert high TDS saline content to drinking water, these systems use high quality RO reverse osmosis brackish water desalination membranes. These systems use our proven technology to give reliable performance and meet the demanding requirements.
How It Works (Basic Process)
- Pre-treatment – Removes suspended solids, chlorine, and scale-forming compounds (using sediment filters, carbon filters, and often a water softener or antiscalant injection).
- High-pressure pump – Pressurizes the pre-treated water to overcome osmotic pressure.
- RO membrane elements – Water is forced through semi-permeable membranes (typically spiral-wound thin-film composite). Dissolved salts, organics, bacteria, and particles are rejected and sent to drain as concentrate (brine).
- Post-treatment (optional) – UV sterilization, deionization (DI), or remineralization for final polishing.
Key Advantages
- High rejection rate – Removes 95–99% of total dissolved solids (TDS), plus heavy metals, nitrates, and microorganisms.
- Compact footprint – Skid-mounted design fits in small mechanical rooms or shipping containers.
- Low chemical usage – Compared to ion exchange alone, RO reduces regenerant chemicals.
- Automated operation – PLC-controlled with auto-flush, low-pressure shutoff, and conductivity monitoring.
- Modular expansion – Multiple units can be paralleled for higher flow.
